Brought into our home as a kitten, Athena quickly became accustomed to life around us and found her place within the rhythm of The Haven. Now five years old, Athena is quiet and shy, but fiercely devoted to her people. She prefers to watch from a distance, observing everything around with calm awareness – always present, always watching. Armed with a gentle charm, Athena brings a warm and steady presence to our home. Though subtle in her affection, her loyalty runs deep, making her a constant and comforting part of our daily life.

A grounding presence at the Haven, Squirrel is the oldest resident – one of the first to arrive marking the beginning of our farm days. Squirrel, with his gentle calmness has helped shape the spirit of what this place would become. With his understanding and appreciation for life that only comes with time, Squirrel has truly seen it all. Steady and sure, he moves through each day with a quiet confidence, offering consistency to those around him. Squirrel enjoys his daily sunbathing sessions and never turns down his favourite treats. His favourite time is breakfast and supper, where he enjoys his speciality old man feed blends. Wise and deeply content, he embodies the peace and permanency that Hayden’s Haven was created to protect.

Dolly arrived at the same time as her buddy Squirrel, a bonded pair. Though smaller in stature, she is truly a small and mighty presence, brining warmth and kindness to everyone she meets. At approximaley 15 years old she is the most gentle of them all. Dolly greets visitors with her friendly noises each time she sees someone approaching. While she happily enjoys carrots and apples, her absolute favourite thing is a good ear scratch, which she accepts with complete trust and joy. Dolly is for everyone, big and small, a friendly, gentle giant who asks for nothing in return. Her charm is contagious, though visitors should take care…she can be a little clumsy at times and may occasionally step on a toe or two.

Hank, a one year old Corgi whose spunk and tenacity can sometimes be over the top – and that’s exactly what makes him unforgettable. Funny in every sense of the word, Hank is extremely vocal about absolutely everything, ensuring that no moment ever goes unnoticed. Full of personality and enthusiasm, Hank is a constant reminder of how much puppies need loving care, patience and guidance. In return, he brings endless laughter, energy and life wherever he goes. Hank LOVES food, running, barking, playing, Princess Auto and anything else a puppy can possibly love. He embodies pure joy, energy and curiosity, keeping the Haven lively and everyone smiling.

Bird and Jelly Bean, what a pair. They arrived at the Haven as chicks and quickly captured the hearts of our family. Donated to Hayden’s Haven, the two have grown side by side and have never missed a beat. A bonded pair in every sense, they are always found together, eating snacks and rummaging through the field. Bird, now the confident leader of the flock, tends to the hens with diligence and purpose – but no matter how busy he is, he always keeps a careful eye on this partner in crime, Jelly Bean. Together they bring character, routine and a quiet sense of togetherness.

These bonded goats come as a pair and bring double the personality! Funny, silly and incredibly cute, Lucy and Shimmy are guaranteed to make you smile and maybe laugh out loud. We are so excited to welcome them to our home, and into our hearts. At Hayden’s Haven, these two have a new purpose – helping us connect people to animals in a way that inspires laughter, learning and love.
